About this part of our organisation:
Glencore Metals Australias Queensland Operations include multiple & geographically dispersed operations, including concentrators, smelters, a refinery and port facilities producing multiple commodities inclusive of Zinc, Copper, Lead and Silver. 

About your potential new position:
This is an opportunity for you show your ability to manage the maintenance function for multiple fixed plant assets, including a Copper Concentrator, Zinc Concentrator, Lead Smelter & Copper Smelter. Delivering clever and effective synergies and efficiencies across this newly formed maintenance department. Being able to implement strong maintenance strategies across all assets, efficiently use resources and having strong safety leadership will be fundamental to the success of this role. 

With accountabilities across the multiple operations your responsibilities will include:

• Leading a culture of safety throughout your team of employees and contractors, driving high safety performance via effective safety management practices
• Development and execution of maintenance strategies in accordance with the entire Queensland Metallurgical Operations division long-term and short-term plans
• Fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the Maintenance department
• Leading the Maintenance department and establishing a group culture, including building employee capability to support strategic objectives
• Managing the financial performance of Maintenance across all assets.

This is a critical role with the ability to have a significant impact on our business. To deliver on expectations, you will:

• Have an excellent record of leading high performance maintenance teams within the resources sector or similar large scale heavy equipment industry
• Structure resourcing to gain the best synergies from a large team
• Demonstrate an ability to think strategically and wholistically to plan asset life cycles
• Ensuring maintenance systems, processes and procedures are tested, delivered and incorporated into daily work tasks
• Proactively collecting & and analysing data to optimise performance
• Be able to show a history of developing, mentoring and retaining talent within your team

As this role forms part of the Senior Management Team for Glencore Metals Australias, Queensland Operations the position is being offered as residential Mt Isa and full relocation support will be provided. The successful candidate will receive company housing, be supplied a vehicle and comes with a very attractive remuneration package.
