Whats the role
The Facilities Engineer is part of the Brazil Project & Engineering organization, acting as a key contributor to the safe, reliable, and competitive delivery of NOV (Non-Operate Venture) and SOV (Operated Venture) assets, in alignment with the Shell Control Framework. The position offers a multidisciplinary role within one of the most relevant Deepwater portfolios globally, with extensive interaction with operations, projects, jointventure partners, and the global expert community.
This position reports directly to the Host Engineering Manager and serves as the technical arm of the Host EM in portfolio delivery, providing support to NOV Shell Brasil facilities, with a focus on assuring the safe, compliant, and reliable scope delivery.
Accountabilities:
Deliver topsides technical input across concept selects, FEED, detailed design, integration, commissioning, and startup activities.
Develop robust and practical technical solutions that enhance project competitiveness and operability.
Review and influence the engineering design of new FPSOs and brownfield projects, ensuring alignment with assurance requirements and business needs.
Support project execution by identifying risks, proposing mitigation or recovery actions, and helping ensure deliverables meet asset priorities.
Work closely with Technical Authorities and SMEs to maintain technical quality and adherence to Shell standards.
Provide technical inputs, risk assessments, ballot reviews, and responses to technical queries to support assurance and decision-making.
Contribute to Key Focus Area initiatives across the asset and project portfolio.
Support integration between projects and operations to improve readiness and enable robust handovers.
Support the Operational Excellence team in conceptual project assessments and opportunity framing activities.
Execute or support feasibility studies for brownfield opportunities.
Provide GHG forecasting input for greenfield projects and support abatement discussions with operators and partners.
Collaborate with JV partners, operators, internal teams in Brazil, and global Engineering communities to strengthen technical integration and partnership.
Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering delivery and management systems.
Promote and embody the One Team Shell Brazil mindset.
Demonstrate HSSE commitment, contributing to Goal Zero in both personal and process safety.
Participate in incident investigation teams when required.
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer
Must hold a valid CREA registration
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and relevant experience in Process Engineering
A minimum of 10 years of solid experience in facilities engineering, operations, and project execution
Proven experience with offshore projects, ideally Deepwater developments in Brazil
Strong skills in project execution, assurance processes, Hysys simulation
Experience in project management and operational support is desirable
Ability to integrate multidisciplinary teams and effectively manage multiple internal and external stakeholders
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in Portuguese and English
Demonstrated commitment to HSSE and continuous improvement
