Full Job Description
Mizuhos Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, sponsor coverage, advisory and solutions and loan capital markets/syndicate to Mizuhos client base of leading international corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities in the US and Canada.
Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities.
Job Overview:
Mizuho is hiring for a Director position on its New York-based Securitization team that will mainly focus on esoteric asset-backed securitizations. The team is responsible for the origination, execution, and management of Mizuhos bank-funded securitizations. The team works in partnership with Mizuhos industry / relationship coverage teams, in addition to Mizuhos broader Securitized Products business.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for originating, syndicating and executing warehouse securitization transactions for esoteric assets
- Generate pitch ideas, prepare pitch books, and join senior staff in meetings with existing and prospective customers
- Negotiate term sheets and transaction documentation with new and existing customers
- Prepare credit and ratings applications and negotiate internal approvals
- Process amendments, waivers, credit and ratings renewals, and review reports of new and existing transactions
- Develop models and perform credit and collateral analysis on different types of esoteric assets, including aircraft, container, digital infrastructure, whole business and IP/Royalties
- Perform market research and due diligence on existing and prospective customers and collateral pools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with term ABS and/or bank/conduit securitization structures
- In-depth understanding of the securitization market, multiple asset classes and types of structures
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Advanced transaction modeling skills
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities to meet internal and external deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience dealing with rating agencies, due diligence, risk weight and other regulatory reporting, and credit/underwriting processes

The expected base salary ranges from $300K - $325K. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
