The Fund Banking Vice President will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with private equity, real estate, credit, and other alternative asset managers either as the lead banker or where appropriate supporting the GCB Industry and Country teams. The role involves providing a comprehensive suite of financial products and services, including fund finance solutions, payments, deposits,  capital markets, and risk management products with a focus on firm and fund level business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fund banking sector, excellent relationship management skills, be an outstanding team player and have a proven track record in investment banking or corporate banking.

We are seeking an experienced banker to be based in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the GCB relationship manager for regional and global PE Sponsors and private investment fund clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • Work in partnership with GCB Country teams, FIG, VCRT, real estate, Infrastructure coverage and other relevant industry teams to support their coverage of additional alternative investment funds. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with fund clients, identifying and originating new business opportunities.
  • Support the execution of fund finance transactions (including subscription lines, NAV facilities, management company lending, and other bespoke solutions), coordinating with internal teams including credit, legal, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the banks presence and market share in the fund banking segment and create a private markets thought leadership and ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with investment banking sponsor coverage and relevant industry and product groups to pitch for new engagements and develop client relationships.
  • Work with the broader Fund coverage and product teams and partners across J.P. Morgan to identify new finance and risk management opportunities.
  • Drive and coordinate the tailored marketing of products, identifying and addressing clients needs in partnership with product teams.
  • Lead credit risk and other internal approval processes for loans and counterparty exposures at the firm and fund levels.
  • Oversee onboarding of target clients and present business and credit cases to relevant internal partners and committees.
  • Act as the portfolio company champion, coordinating activities and ensuring expanding wallet share in portfolio companies in partnership with sponsors coverage teams, industry and regional bankers.
  • Hold revenue responsibility for top-line growth and sound risk-return metrics.
  • Serve as the first line of defense for continuous credit quality monitoring.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in fund banking, investment banking, or corporate banking, with a focus on investment funds.
  • Bachelor Degree in Economics, Finance, or other relevant fields.
  • Strong understanding of financial products and services, including fund finance, capital markets, risk management solutions, and in-depth knowledge of corporate banking products such as bank loans, bonds, rates, FX and structured products, cash management.
  • Solid grasp of capital markets, including key instruments and market dynamics.
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk management solutions for diverse client profiles.
  • Familiarity with foreign exchange (FX) and structured products, including their application in client portfolios.
  • Proficiency in cash management solutions and optimizing liquidity for corporate clients.
  • Ability to analyze client needs and deliver customized financial solutions across multiple product areas.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively presenting complex financial concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships, win new business, close transactions, and build networks both internally and externally.
  • Strong influencing skills, team player, and proven track record of managing cross-cultural environments and inter-department collaboration.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities that are team-oriented, fostering, and collegial.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage deliverables for long-term transactions as well as a busy day-to-day schedule.
