Within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB), we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. Our international network and breadth of expertise enable us to deliver on HSBCs purpose of opening

up a world of opportunity by providing our customers with borderless banking and world-class wealth management through best-in-class, mobile-first capabilities and exceptional people. Our key areas of operations include Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Asset Management, Private Banking and Insurance.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in insurance planning, delivering insurance-led wealth and succession solutions to High Net Worth Individuals, with a strong focus on Asian clients, particularly from China.
  • Provide strategic advice on life insurance, legacy and estate liquidity planning, business succession funding, asset protection, and risk management as part of holistic wealth planning engagements.
  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers to identify client needs and originate planning opportunities, positioning insurance as a core advisory tool within broader wealth and succession planning discussions.
  • Design, structure, and implement complex insurance solutions tailored to clients personal, family, and business objectives, including intergenerational wealth transfer and long-term legacy planning.
  • Lead succession planning engagements, facilitating client and family discussions around protection planning, estate equalisation, liquidity needs, and philanthropic objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners, underwriting teams, and external specialists to deliver seamless end-to-end insurance advisory and execution.
  • Monitor wealth planning market developments, regulatory changes, and best practices across relevant jurisdictions, translating insights into compliant and effective client solutions.
  • Collaborate with Private Banking and Group affiliates to strengthen the Banks insurance proposition, support client acquisition, and deepen existing client relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and intermediaries across the insurance and wealth planning ecosystem, positioning the Bank as a trusted advisory partner.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in insurance advisory, wealth planning, or private banking, with a strong focus on insurance-led solutions for High Net Worth Individuals.
  • Proven track record in structuring and delivering complex insurance solutions or legacy planning.
  • Travelling is required on need basis
  • Strong interpersonal, advisory, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior clients and family members.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision; highly detail-oriented, disciplined, and execution-focused.
