Glencore are currently advertising for a Principal Structural Integrity Engineer vacancy that exists in the team. This role is based in Brisbane, working a MondayFriday roster, with frequent trips to site on a 12-month Fixed term contract

About the role
As Principal Structural Integrity, you will lead the delivery of a multi-site structural remediation program across Glencore Metals Australia, ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability, and compliance of critical assets. This role combines technical leadership with project execution, overseeing structural assessments, prioritising risk based remediation, and managing contractor delivery across complex operating environments. Working closely with site and corporate stakeholders, you will play a key role in safeguarding asset integrity while driving continuous improvement in structural performance across the business.
Key responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate a review of the structural remediation program across multiple sites, and implement a structural integrity action plan to address any gaps or areas of improvement
- Conduct and oversee structural inspections, assessments, and risk evaluations
- Prioritise works based on risk, safety, and operational impact
- Manage contractors and specialist providers to deliver program improvements, and identified actions
- Monitor program performance, reporting progress, budget, and outcomes to stakeholders
Required Experience
You are an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in heavy industry, mining, or processing environments, and a proven ability to deliver remediation and asset integrity programs across multiple sites. You bring deep technical knowledge of structural assessment and degradation mechanisms, combined with hands on experience managing contractor led works and ensuring compliance with Australian standards. With well developed project management and stakeholder engagement skills, you are comfortable operating across both strategic and operational levels, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and performance.
Qualification you should have:
- Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or actively working towards professional registration
- Minimum 5+ years experience in structural engineering within mining, heavy industry, or processing environments
- Demonstrated experience in structural inspections, condition assessments, and remediation programs
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS/NZS), including structural design and compliance requirements
- Experience working with materials degradation, corrosion, and structural failure mechanisms
- Current drivers licence and ability to obtain site-specific inductions and certifications
- Willingness and ability to travel across multiple operational sites and work flexibly as required
