Purpose of the role

Provide technical leadership and specialist hydrometallurgical processing support across Glencore Coppers operating assets, growth projects, and Joint Ventures.

The role is responsible for supporting the development, optimization, evaluation, and assurance of hydrometallurgical processes, ensuring that technical solutions are safe, economically robust, operationally practical, and aligned with business objectives.

Contribute to operational excellence, long-term asset value creation, and delivery of Glencore Coppers growth strategy through application of industry leading practices and technical assurance.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Metallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Process Engineering, Mineral Processing, or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years experience in mining and metallurgical operations, project development, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrometallurgical process design and optimization.
  • Experience across study phases including PEA, PFS, FS
  • Experience managing metallurgical testwork programs and pilot plants.
  • Experience supporting operating assets and troubleshooting process performance issues.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.

  • Provide technical assurance and independent review of studies, designs, and operational performance.
  • Support project development from concept to execution, ensuring technically sound and economically robust solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices across the asset portfolio.
  • Act as the key technical interface with operations, consultants, laboratories, and engineering contractors.
