We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our safety strategy and systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements, while actively promoting strong safety leadership to enhance workplace culture and safety performance.

The role will predominately be based in the Hunter Valley with travel required within NSW and central QLD from time to time. The position is permanent full time, with a Monday to Friday roster.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the development, delivery, and participation in project assurance processes and plans

  • Providing advice and support to project teams on the implementation of Health and Safety systems, procedures, and initiatives

  • Developing and implementing Health and Safety systems in line with legal and company requirements

  • Facilitating risk management processes to support effective Health and Safety systems

  • Collecting, analysing, and utilising safety data to identify trends, measure performance, and support informed decision-making

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and contributing to a strong safety-first culture

  • Collaborating with team members to achieve Health, Safety, and Training objectives

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety (essential)

  • A strong understanding of, and ability to interpret, NSW and QLD WHS legislation

  • High computer literacy with strong attention to detail

  • An auditing qualification with demonstrated practical experience

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Previous experience in mining or similar operational environments

  • Extensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
