In this role you will be responsible for:
- Preparing ingots for breaking in order to ensure that the ingot is broken down to a more manageable size in order to load it onto dump trucks;
- Ensuring metal is cold and clean in order to ensure that metal can be tipped into breaking bin and then processed;
- Ensuring all broken metal is properly cleaned by picking slag from the picking belt in order to ensure that the product quality is met;
- Performing housekeeping on the breaking floor daily and carry out inspection prior and post to every shift;
- Carrying out work in a safe manner by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures and reporting all sub-standard conditions to immediate supervisor;
- Reporting maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor;
- Cleaning the pit;
- Adhering to all HSEC requirements to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures; and
- Performing any other work related duties per supervisors instruction.
About you:
- Grade 12;
- Minimum of 6 months general furnace experience;
- Knowledge of HSEC Systems;
- Proficient in English; and
- Sound knowledge of furnace operations.
