Full Job Description
This role is part of our Hiring Sprint Event on August 1, designed to connect you directly with hiring teams and streamline your path to joining ExxonMobil. The event will take place at our office in Kuala Lumpur (Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)the same location where you'll be based if selected for the role.

ExxonMobil in Malaysia
In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobils Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.

You will be an integral part of our process engineering team providing deep technical insights into a specific process engineering technology area (i.e. Reforming Process) and provide support to ExxonMobils manufacturing facilities globally.
Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Advanced Reforming Process Engineer to join our Kuala Lumpur Technology Center team. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, and you will be working very closely with our global process engineering team and manufacturing sites teams.
What you will do
If successful, your key deliverables will include:
- Providing active technical leadership, assisting organization in goal setting, sharing technical and organizational knowledge
- Process modeling sustainment and deployment support
- Mentoring and training less experienced engineers
- Providing reforming process engineering and technical support to ExxonMobil and third party licensee manufacturing sites
- Providing capital projects with reforming and/or hydroprocessing process engineering and technical support to meet business needs and efficient use of capital
- Leading or supporting troubleshooting or improvement opportunities and value capture
- Working collaboratively with vendors and suppliers to ensure appropriate designing, manufacturing, testing and delivery of equipment
- Supporting successful installation, commissioning, and operationalizing of grassroots or revamped facilities, and unit turnarounds
About you
Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or refining industry
- Minimum 3 years of work specialization in reforming technology
- Technical site or unit experience including monitoring, troubleshooting, asset support, projects and turnarounds
- Process and equipment design experience including use of process simulation packages
- Able to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledgeable in reaction kinetics
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, especially in multi-cultural global team
- Strategic thinking and able to develop creative fit for purpose solutions to resolve operational problems
- Ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results with no or minimal direct authority
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed for business reasons. Expect about 5-10% of time required for travel
