This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's growing M&A Finance team that sits in SRTA. You will work on high profile assignments with some of the best in the field, across a wide variety of transactions covering equity capital markets, corporate mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, within a highly commercial, client focused environment.
Our M&A Finance team is a group of qualified accountants with a background in transactions who have successfully advised on some of the largest cross-border deals in recent years. We deploy experienced professionals with deep expertise of Finance as a function and M&A knowledge, who can own and drive the CFOs capital agenda and related finance workstreams and be deployed across the transaction to meet the finance function aspirations. The team will work alongside client management and other advisers to protect value at deal completion and realise value post deal.
Typically, we operate alongside colleagues providing our clients with a multi-disciplinary and end-to-end transaction assist service which accesses Deloittes vast range of specialist expertise including M&A Tech, M&A People, merger integration or separation, modelling and analytics. We regularly work on international assignments involving cross-border as well as cross-service line teams requiring our people to build wide networks across both the UK and International firms.

Your role
You will primarily focus on providing clients with specialist M&A Finance advice, based on your track record of delivering and running finance related workstreams across a number of transactions, both international and domestic, including acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, mergers and demergers. Crucially, you will be part of the deal leadership team on projects, assisting senior finance stakeholders to manage large and complex transactions from inception through to delivery on areas including but not limited to: designing finance operating models, stand-up and change management of finance operations, finance tech optionality and selection, calculating and benchmarking the cost of finance, finance change project management through the deal execution, identifying and implementing value creation opportunities through finance etc.
This role needs significant exposure to and interaction with senior strategic and financial decision-makers at our clients stakeholders, so a desire to work in a client engagement environment is essential. Your responsibilities will vary per project and are unique to each transaction, however the key responsibilities below give some insight into what the role will entail.

Essentials:
- Significant experience in M&A both private and public transactions
- ICAEW qualified
- Strong technical accounting/finance track record
- Experience in supporting businesses with finance function design for public and private transactions as well as readiness assessments
- Track record of delivering large, complex finance engagements including technical programmes, finance tech programmes and conversion programmes
- Significant experience in completing finance specific deal completion assessments as well as transitionary finance operating model work
- Proven track record of leading finance change across organisations via a range of transactional and transformation programmes within a deal context
- Experience in finance tech programmes for readiness, completion and post deal assessments including value analysis
- Strong knowledge of finance control environments including 3 Lines of Defence models, risk management and internal audit
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization, internally and externally and experience in drafting and presenting finance Board documents (including Audit Committee papers)
- Experience with working with PE backed businesses and enacting change across finance functions
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present clearly in presentation or pitches including senior level stakeholders; ideally comfortable in corporate and private equity boardrooms
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in line with long-term business objectives
- Experience in finance synergy work is preferred finance operational levers, benchmarking and value analysis in a deal context
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred
- Full travel mobility
Desirables:
- Experience in industry (either as full-time employment or an extensive secondment) within a finance role or working alongside CFOs/finance functions as a key finance business partner
- Relevant experience in at least one of the following industries: consumer goods, energy and resources, industrials, technology and media, financial services or life sciences
