Step into the role of Chief Specialized Compliance Officer at Danske Bank Poland and anchor our commitment to compliance and ethical practices!

We are looking for a Chief Specialized Compliance Officer to join the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) team in our Poland branch. The team provides independent oversight of compliance risk management and governance, assisting the executive management to promote a robust compliance culture within the bank. 

The team is part of a broader Large Corporate & Institutions & Sustainability (LC&IS) Compliance unit And in connection to this the role will also lead the work in the LC&IS Monitoring Team which is a new team located in Poland and part of the broader Large Corporate & Institutional & Sustainability (LC&IS) Compliance unit. The team will be collaborating closely with the LC&I Compliance Advisory teams covering Asset Management, Investment Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking,

You will:

In this role, your primary responsibility is being a local regulatory compliance point of contact, covering and overseeing all regulatory compliance risks in the CIB part of the business. You will also coordinate the work of the LC&I Monitoring Team.

Your day-to-day tasks will include but wont be limited to:

  • Reviewing and advising on compliance risks in a consistent and routine manner, ensuring continuous alignment with regulations, as well as escalating and reporting issues
  • Lead the work on execution of the annual LC&IS Compliance Monitoring Plan 

  • Coordinating Compliance Monitoring reviews and analysis in collaboration with Compliance Advisory teams to assess the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management across the business, including controls, processes and client outcomes
  • Building solid relationships with both local and Group stakeholders to provide appropriate compliance oversight, ensuring trust and awareness of compliance
  • Assisting in organising, and co-facilitating training sessions related to relevant requirements in the branch, to reinforce compliance practices and awareness
  • Leading or participating in compliance-related projects and governance forums as needed, assisting in reviewing of new or updated products
  • Creating and maintaining reports that track compliance metrics, ensuring management is well-informed of the status quo
  • Developing and delivering the annual compliance plan for the oversight of regulatory compliance risks, supporting interactions and engagement with the regulator

About you:

We are looking for a motivated professional, whos adept at handling tasks proactively, presenting with high levels of assertiveness and precision. You should possess the ability to translate concepts and historical lessons into actionable strategies, ensuring prompt responsiveness to evolving situations when the need arises. Its very important you work well in an international environment and feel comfortable coordinating tasks with local colleagues as well as across different countries.

 We imagine you also possess:

  • 7 +years of experience in relevant roles within the financial services industry
  • A University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of relevant financial services regulations in Poland and the EU
  • Great organizational skills, capable of managing routine tasks and responding effectively to unexpected challenges
  • High interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with peers and stakeholders
  • High proficiency in spoken and written Polish as well as in English
  • Previous leadership experience is highly appreciated
