Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Cashier to join our Accounts department. The key function of this role is to provide an efficient service to the Firm for Cashiering purposes. This will involve regular liaison with Partners, Fee Earners, and Secretaries. The job holder will have responsibility for dealing with all issues that arise effectively, providing a first class service to the firm.

Bird & Bird's Finance team's mission is to provide world class finance support to the business. In London the team comprises circa 60 finance professionals across a wide range of areas including management and financial accounting, transaction processing, partner accounting, tax, treasury, pricing and commercial decision support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily allocations of all UK office cash receipts - for USD, EURO and GBP Accounts, ensuring adherence at all times to SARs and firm policies
  • Daily bank reconciliations for all UK accounts; reconciliation and posting of all official fees
  • Compilation of month end bank rec summaries for office & client account
  • Cancellation of out of date Client & Office Account cheques and follow up procedure
  • Partner drawings and distributions postings - including bank file uploads
  • Maintenance of a cash flow forecast balance for various bank accounts
  • Assisting Senior Cashier with client account transactions including Manual deposit interest
  • Posting of multi-currency supplier disbursement invoices
  • Posting and balancing of supplier invoices from Counsel

What you'll bring

  • Experience of working as a Cashier in a legal environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of SARs
  • Good Excel skills and a good working knowledge of other MS packages
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Able to deal with demanding deadlines and work pressures; has excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, is accurate and consistent
