POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant will work within the EMEA Fund Admin & Accounting Team. The candidate will be based in Luxembourg and will work with team members based in London and Luxembourg. The Senior Accountant will work on UK and Luxembourg based T. Rowe Price sponsored investment products and will be mainly responsible of the Fund expenses & invoices management and of the oversight of internal and external service providers for fund accounting and financial reporting, in collaboration with the Senior Managers of the team.
Principal Responsibilities
Oversight for Accounting Processes and Information:
- Works with the Senior Managers on the supervision of the third-party fund accounting and financial reporting agent for Luxembourg and UK based T. Rowe Price products.
- Manages the organization of the service review meetings with the third-party fund accounting agent and will be one of the day-to-day contact for any query on NAVs.
- Responsible to supervise the work performed by the internal service providers in charge of fund accounting and financial reporting oversight.
- Helps to resolve complex accounting issues as they arise.
- Responsible for reviewing financial statements of Luxembourg based products.
- Assists financial reporting team in managing the requests received from local external auditors and will be responsible to escalate to the Senior Managers any issues.
- Works on NAV error resolution, including impact calculation and also working with internal and external teams to determine cause and appropriate recommendations for process improvement.
- Responsible for different fund accounting oversight tasks like the review of tax reclaims, late trades, rebates calculation, etc.
- Helps in the preparation of the Self-Assessment Questionnaires of the Lux based products.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Works with Senior Managers on strategic projects which may improve processes, enhance products, implement regulatory changes, etc.
Fund Expenses Management:
- Establishing the annual budgets for all types of fund expenses
- Performing regular review of expense accruals balances in accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness based on budgets/instructions provided and recent invoices paid
- Prepare the monthly expense package for all funds in scope
- Reviewing and instructing the payment of the management fees to be paid by the funds on monthly basis
- Prepare expense instructions for new funds/share classes to be launched/closed
Fund Invoices Management:
- Collecting invoices to be paid by the funds
- Monitoring invoices received from reception to payment
- Submitting invoices for approval
- Calculation of the allocation to be done between funds/ share classes
- Instructing the payment to the Custodian bank of the funds
Regulatory/Clients Reporting:
- Calculate on monthly basis the TER/ongoing charges for each share class of the funds in scope for regulatory/clients reporting
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree minimum (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of work experience in the asset management or mutual fund industry, preferably within a Big 4 Audit firm
- Knowledge of Lux GAAP and fund accounting
- Knowledge of financial reporting framework for mutual funds
- Knowledge of fees and expenses charged to mutual funds
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of a task or process, and see it through from inception to completion
- Excellent analysis and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Works well autonomously and in a team environment.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Skills with AI tools will be an asset
