Client Analyst, Institutional Coverage  (12 month temporary contract)

SEB is a leading northern European financial services group with customer bases among both private individuals and organisations. We are consistently recognised for our expertise and customer-centric approach, achieved by listening to our customers, committing to quality and trust, and encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset in everything we do.

Institutional Coverage is responsible for SEBs institutional clients in Norway, and we are proud to be ranked number one in Prospera in Institutional Banking in Norway three years in a row. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Client Analyst to join our relationship-driven team.

The role sits at the heart of SEBs relationship banking model. Working closely with senior colleagues and internal stakeholders, you will combine financial analysis, credit work and client engagement, gaining broad exposure to banking products, internal decision-making, regulations and legal documentation.

What you will be doing

As a Client Analyst you will support a portfolio of financial institutions and institutional clients. You will support and drive credit processes for transactions and annual reviews, contribute to ongoing credit monitoring, and help ensure that exposures and limits are appropriately approved, allocated and maintained in line with internal policies and risk culture.

  • Prepare high-quality credit applications (annual reviews and transaction-specific applications).
  • Play an active role in ongoing credit monitoring to ensure client exposure and limits are appropriately approved, allocated and maintained.
  • Proactively identify and help resolve limit or data issues by working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain client data according to set standards and in compliance with applicable regulations, including support in onboarding and periodic review processes.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders such as Credit, Compliance, Risk and Operations, as well as relevant product teams, to support delivery to clients.
  • Contribute to regulatory and internal development projects and support efficiency improvements within your team/area of expertise.

Who we are looking for

  • Relevant university degree (e.g., finance, economics, business, or a related discipline) and a strong interest in financial institutions, credit risk and credit processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a structured, detail-oriented and proactive way with quality, accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, team-player mentality and high integrity, with an understanding of working in a regulated financial environment.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills; fluency in English and a Scandinavian language is required.
  • Experience from corporate/institutional banking, credit analysis or a similar analytical role is an advantage, but not essential.
The temporary contract is to cover for a maternity leave, and we prefer someone who can start no later than October 2026.

What we offer

  • Broad exposure across credit, products and relationship banking, with a steep learning curve and close collaboration with senior colleagues.
  • A collaborative, inclusive and professional working culture, with an entrepreneurial Scandinavian mindset.
  • Strong support for long-term development, internal mobility, and extensive training and learning opportunities.
  • Opportunities to help improve how we work through regulatory and internal development projects, always with the goal to enhance the customer experience.

Application Details

Please attach a description of yourself and how you can contribute to our team (cover letter), along with your CV and university transcripts, by 13th of September. We will evaluate applications on an ongoing basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible if this opportunity interests you.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact ystein Stephansen, Head of Institutional Coverage, at oystein.stephansen@seb.no, or Katinka Dokka, Recruiter, at katinka.dokka@seb.no.
