Location: NEW YORK, NY, United States

Position Overview

The Fund Mandates team is responsible for the fund operations for the Schroder funds in the North America. It has oversight of third-party administrators for fund accounting, financial reporting, custody, transfer agency and expense payments. It assists internal teams and service providers with valuation, client reporting, tax reporting and product development. 

This role will have fund operational oversight of complex private credit, collective trust and limited partnership funds.  Such oversight includes reviewing financial statements, accounting workpapers, processing expenses, performing checks on fees and budgeting of expenses.  It includes oversight of third-party administrators and monitoring of deliverables and key performance indicators. 

The Fund Mandates team sits under Platform Services within the Global Operating Platform at Schroders.  The Global Operating Platform is made up of strategic core operational functions that work together alongside regional hubs in the UK, New York, Singapore and India. 

This role reports directly into the Head of Fund Mandates, Americas and works closely with members of the Fund Mandates team and the Global Operating Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring third-party administrators and adherence to the service level agreement and key performance indicators 

  • Review accounting packages and client statements prepared by third-party administrators

  • Review annual audited financial statements under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards 

  • Experience with performance fees, allocations, waterfalls and complex fund structures

  • Review and prepare fund expense and budget accruals

  • Assist with valuation analysis and queries

  • Work with onboarding of new clients 

  • Review SOC-1 and internal control reports for third-party administrators

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors in accounting, Finance, Business or other similar degree

  • 2 - 5 years minimum relevant industry experience ideally in the Fund industry

  • Experience in private credit, private equity or hedge funds 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fund accounting experience with ETFs and daily valued funds

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar designation

 

Compensation

Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $90,000 to 100,000 for this position.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
