Were looking for a dynamic Credit Risk Officer to join our high-performing team, someone who thrives on making sound decisions, building strong relationships, and supporting the growth of rural and commercial businesses.

About the role | M te tranga

This isnt just another credit role, its your opportunity to influence key lending decisions that shape regional economies, partner with Relationship Managers and Branch teams to structure smart, value-driven deals.

Youll act as a trusted voice in credit strategy, training, and innovation, and contribute to a culture that values collaboration, courage, and continuous improvement.

As a critical decision-maker, you will:

  • Assess and approve lending proposals, renewals, and reviews with confidence and precision
  • Prepare and present high-quality credit submissions to senior committees
  • Monitor portfolio health, including accounts out of order and risk indicators
  • Provide expert guidance to frontline teams on deal structuring and credit quality
  • Support policy development, training initiatives, and product innovation
  • Build strong partnerships across the business and act as a go-to credit expert

About you | pkenga

We are seeking a technically strong and commercially astute professional who thrives in a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.

A partnership-driven mindset is essential, with a strong focus on delivering results right the first time, embracing continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a clear sense of purpose.

Experience & Expertise:

  • 5+ years in credit and banking, ideally with rural sector exposure
  • Strong ability to analyse financial statements, cash flows, and valuations
  • Proven track record in credit decision-making and submission writing

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Finance, or a related field
  • Accounting or Valuation credentials? Thats a bonus!

Core Strengths:

  • Strategic thinking with a customer-first mindset
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to prioritise, lead, and deliver results independently
  • Confidence in influencing outcomes and driving quality decisions
