Join the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team within Community Development Banking (CDB), part of Commercial Banking at JPMorganChase. In this role, you will support the credit management of a portfolio of CDB clients through disciplined underwriting, ongoing monitoring, and portfolio analytics across the business cycle. You will work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes continuous learning, development, and strong stakeholder partnership.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage own client portfolio Extensive and in-depth portfolio monitoring; Independently prepare credit risk analysis reports on assigned clients (business & financial analysis and focusing on credit issues). Recommend rating grades based on analysis for the clients and facilities/exposures. 
  • Actively work on portfolio management activities such as annual reviews, periodic financial performance diligence for stressed loans, monitoring loans for covenants and adherence to credit terms, regulatory reporting, etc. 
  • Build strong knowledge of the existing clients (including loan documentation for their facilities); regularly track sector and regulatory developments on an on-going basis; continuously monitor the client portfolio for risk rating appropriateness and perform off-cycle risk rating changes as needed.
  • Develop strong expertise in Commercial Real Estate and Affordable Housing sectors in North America; as well as understand/ keep yourself regularly updated on the overall Credit Ecosystem Tools & Applications, Policies, Procedures, Guidelines, Systems required to perform Credit Analysis of CDB Borrowers.
  • Build strong relationships and maintain open communication with colleagues from various Lines of Business including Credit Approvers, Credit Officers, Bankers, etc.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts in the team on fundamentals of credit risk analysis, internal systems & processes; and supervise/ review their work.
  • Contribute to various firm-wide projects focused on improving efficiencies, streamlining processes, risk technology, enhancing risk reporting, regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Ad-hoc projects as necessary.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • MBAs (with Finance specialization) / CA
  • 4-10 years of experience in credit risk; experience in real estate sector is preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and basic accounting principles. 

  • Good knowledge of various banking facilities/products (such as term loans, counterparty lines, etc.) and their documentation. 

  • Attitude and aptitude to learn and enhance knowledge of credit risk analysis, and passion for real estate sector.

  • Deadline orientation; strong attention to detail and high accuracy.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft desktop tools (MS Word, Excel and Power Point) and ability to learn AI tools, techniques and applications.

  • Ability to work proactively & independently, as well as in a team environment.

  • Strong & Effective communication skills both verbal & written; and good interpersonal skills to be able to effectively present analysis and build strong relationships with stakeholders at various hierarchies.

  • Work timing: Starts at 1:00 p.m. IST to provide overlap with the US counterparts.
