Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Associate Analyst or Analyst to join our Energy and Natural Resources business in Madrid.

Responsibilities may include: designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; reviewing, summarizing and analyzing industry trends; managing large data sets and developing code to perform complex analysis; auction design and/or simulation; the development of pricing systems for infrastructure; analysis of financial market data; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos, expert reports and presentation materials; and participating in team meetings and conference calls. This is a team-based, multi-task environment that requires precision work that is both qualitative and quantitative, often with tight deadlines.

Associate Analyst or Analyst at NERA will have the opportunity to:

• Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during their graduate studies
• Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries
• Perform and develop cutting-edge economic analysis on complex real-life issues
• Write research reports and prepare client presentations for senior staff and clients to help them make informed economic decisions

You will need

• To hold a BA/BSc and a Masters or PhD in Economics or related discipline with exceptional academic records. Although specialisms such as microeconomics, IO, econometrics and finance are of particular interest, NERA employs strong analytic and empirical economists from any field of specialty.
• To enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research
• To have a good working knowledge of Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other statistical and analytical software. Experience with AI-assisted coding tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Codex, is also desirable
• To have strong attention to detail and be able to think analytically and critically
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and spoken are essential
• To be able to work effectively both individually and in teams

Necesitars

Tener un Grado y un Mster o Doctorado en Economa, Finanzas o una disciplina relacionada, con un excelente expediente acadmico. Aunque se valorarn especialmente perfiles con formacin en microeconoma, organizacin industrial, econometra y finanzas, buscamos economistas con una slida formacin analtica y emprica, independientemente de su rea de especializacin.

• Tener inters por la microeconoma y la investigacin cuantitativa
• Contar con un buen dominio de Excel, Stata, R, Python u otras herramientas de anlisis econmico y estadstico. Se valorar la experiencia con herramientas de asistencia a la programacin basadas en IA, como GitHub Copilot o Codex
• Tener una gran atencin al detalle y ser capaz de pensar de manera analtica y crtica
• Tener excelentes habilidades de comunicacin oral y escrita en espaol e ingls
• Ser capaz de trabajar de manera efectiva tanto de forma individual como en equipo
