Join our expanding team in Houston where you will work across our Global Risk Surveillance Program. This is an opportunity to support our Americas Head of Risk Surveillance and Global Commodities Surveillance Lead by conducting surveillance for potential market manipulation and misconduct, and misuse of electronic communications.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will oversee the smooth running of the daily surveillance analysis, conduct deep dive investigations and regular reviews of non-exchange based (OTC) activities, and act as an escalation point for junior surveillance colleagues in their investigations. You will ensure investigations are adequately documented and followed through to resolution in a timely manner and work with local Compliance staff to determine an appropriate, coordinated level of surveillance. As part of the role, you will also lead efforts to identify gaps and weaknesses in the current surveillance program, contribute to the design, development, and implementation of surveillance solutions, assist with regulatory/exchange requests and investigations, conduct trade reconstruction efforts, and perform team quality assurance controls.

  • 710 years of experience in commodity and energy OTC markets, with strong understanding of operational flows and potential manipulation risks.
  • Expertise in FERC and CFTC antimanipulation rules and related regulatory actions in the commodity sector.
  • Familiarity with trading systems, data structures, and interfaces, and a solid grasp of Compliances role in financial services.
  • High proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, problem identification, and solution development.
  • Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills with Compliance, Technology, and business stakeholders.
