- Strong experience designing, building and delivering Java-based cloud applications, with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience building cloud-native solutions and distributed systems using modern engineering practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted and agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI or similar.
- Strong understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures, with the ability to design scalable and resilient solutions.
- Proven ability to deliver high-performing, maintainable and well-architected systems in complex environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, product and business teams.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing.
- Strong knowledge of modern engineering technologies and practices, including cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), containers, APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, event streaming, TDD, Continuous Delivery and Site Reliability Engineering.
- Understanding of security, privacy, regulatory requirements and technology lifecycle management, with experience in Banking and Financial Services being highly regarded.
