Principal Network Test Engineer
Role Purpose:
As the High-Skills Network Technical Lead, your main responsibility will be to ensure the ongoing support and reliability of all components within the LSEG ecosystem, including platforms, networks, applications, and services! In this role, you will provide 3rd-line QA expertise to the Network Products and Services functions, ensuring the operational stability and adaptability of the LSEG global network. Your key focus will be on creating and maintaining software and test plans using automation that improves the reliability and availability of digital platforms and their software delivery pipelines.
You will play a significant role in designing, building, and maintaining systems, software, and applications across various domains! Independently, youll make technical design and amendment decisions, owning the workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the network implementation and development teams to ensure a coordinated approach to Infrastructure Provisioning Automation
Supervise the design and deployment of network automation software and ensure compliance a with the QA framework and strategy
Provide technical expertise to other Network Engineers to design, run and debug network and infrastructure tests
Communicate effectively with collaborators at all levels, providing updates on infrastructure initiatives, risks, and opportunities
Promote the adoption of standard methodologies in test automation and network infrastructure automation testing process
Collaborate with development teams to align testing approach with the overall product roadmap and technical vision
Implement and track adoption of testing methodologies and standardization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Document test strategies, processes, and outcomes in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Subject
Having proven experience being responsible for testing infrastructure/network solutions
Ability to prioritize and handle work to critical project timelines in a fast paced environment.
Ability to develop innovative ways to sophisticated problems related to infrastructure test (network related preferred) and Production Acceptance Process
Successful track record of testing infrastructure products (network related preferred) and certifying for production deployment
Skills Needed
Develop and maintain network test plans, validate network deliveries across multiple device platforms
Design and implement automation frameworks for comprehensive network product testing
Experience in working with DevOps CI/CD pipelines
Experience in developing comprehensive test cases to ensure detailed test coverage, addressing both functional and nonfunctional requirements
Good understanding of networking technologies including LAN, WAN, data centre, client connectivity and cloud environments
Good understanding of Hardware and Software Lifecycle Management
Strong proficiency in Python and Robot Framework for test automation.
Hands-on experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab).
Familiarity with TestRail or similar test management tools.
Deep understanding of network technologies and protocols (Cisco XR/NX, Arista, BGP, VXLAN, ISIS, QOS).
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of multicast concepts, including IGMP, RP, and PIM, is helpful.
Familiarity with low-latency technologies commonly deployed in the financial sector is advantageous.
Exposure to the financial sector and its associated technologies is valuable
