As a Vice President in International Consumer Banking Strategy, you will lead and oversee efforts to understand and identify issues, defining clear problem statements and setting the workplan, milestones, and success metrics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee efforts to understand and identify issues, defining clear problem statements and setting the workplan, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Develop hypotheses and lead the gathering of relevant data for comprehensive analysis, ensuring analytical quality control and so-what insights.
  • Direct and coach the team in identifying and implementing potential solutions using advanced frameworks, bringing structured problem solving and conceptual rigor.
  • Craft compelling, executive-ready storylines and presentations that convey analyses and strategic recommendations with crisp takeaways.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders through both verbal and written channels, tailoring communication to senior audiences and steering toward decisions.
  • Proactively collaborate with global stakeholders, including business partners and senior leaders, building durable relationships and alignment across regions and functions.
  • Lead interviews, workshops, and focus group discussions to achieve desired project outcomes, including facilitation of senior forums and difficult trade-off conversations.
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends and competitor/Fintech landscapes (global and local), translating insights into implications for ICB strategy, partnership opportunities, and potential M&A and sharing reports with the team and senior executives.
  • Coach and develop junior team members through structured feedback, apprenticeship on analytics/storytelling, and active review of outputs.
  • Champion tool and AI adoption/innovation to improve team productivity and insight generation, within firm standards and controls.
  • Drive operational excellence across the teams ways of working (templates, quality bars, reusable assets, and continuous improvement).

 

Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Minimum 8 years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or an internal strategy role, solving complex problems and communicating with executives; banking or financial services experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including hypothesis-led approaches, structured synthesis, and executive-level judgment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a proven ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, including relationship management, conflict resolution, and upward management.
  • Experience in monitoring and analysing industry trends and competitor landscapes, with ability to convert insights into strategic choices and executable roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and talent development capabilities (coaching, feedback, and raising the performance bar).
  • Strong risk mindset and experience operating in controlled environments (identifying/assessing risks and escalating appropriately).
  • Strong project management skills: scope definition, work planning, prioritization, and driving milestones under tight timelines.
