As a Fund Accounting Operations Team Leader within the Fund Accounting Operations team, you oversee delivery of financial statements, net asset values (NAVs), and related accounting reporting for pension fund clients. You lead daily execution and ensure outputs meet required timelines, quality standards, and control expectations. You manage escalations and resolve issues that arise from accounting or securities transaction exceptions. You partner with global stakeholders to execute strategic change and improve end-to-end service outcomes.

Job responsibilities:

  • Escalate issues promptly using defined management channels and provide clear status updates to stakeholders
  • Strengthen the risk and controls framework, focusing supervisory attention on higher-risk processes
  • Drive service excellence by reducing errors and improving timeliness and quality of deliverables
  • Partner with global stakeholders to execute operating model and location strategy initiatives
  • Identify productivity opportunities that improve capacity planning and support growth while reducing unnecessary overtime
  • Lead process re-engineering and platform improvements to enable strategic change
  • Develop and retain a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, and inclusive leadership

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 10 years of experience in financial services operations, including fund accounting and/or investment operations
  • Experience managing an operations team of 20+ people, including performance management and coaching responsibilities
  • Experience delivering fund accounting outputs (for example, NAVs and financial statements) in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage escalations and lead resolution of complex operational issues
  • Strong knowledge of operational controls, including reconciliations, validation, and exception management
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across functions and locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear updates and documentation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify drivers, trends, and root causes from operational data
  • Experience managing to a finance and headcount plan (tracking, forecasting, and execution)
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain delivery standards under time pressure

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience managing outsourced and/or offshore operations and vendor performance
  • Experience leading strategic change initiatives (for example, process redesign or platform modernization)
  • Experience building or enhancing a controls framework for higher-risk operational processes
  • Familiarity with cross-asset investment products and related fund accounting impacts
  • Experience establishing and tracking measurable service quality and efficiency targets
