Full Job Description

Location: New York, NY, United States

At JPMorganChase, Strategy shapes, accelerates, and helps deliver our most important strategic
priorities in close partnership with our businesses. Our Strategy teams are comprised of talented individuals who work directly with members of the Operating Committee, CEOs of our lines of business, and other senior leaders on a wide variety of firmwide initiatives.

As a Firmwide Strategy Analyst within JPMorganChase Strategy, you will work on impactful and complex projects with high visibility and help shape and accelerate the firms most important strategic priorities. We are looking for talented early-career talent to join us in Strategy Analyst roles across a few of the firms strategy teams.  You will join one specific Strategy team and will not be cross-staffed across multiple teams, and team placement will be determined through the interview process based on mutual fit and business need.  Potential teams include:

  • Corporate Strategy
  • Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Strategy
  • Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Product Strategy
  • CAO Strategy & Process Improvement (S&PI)

Our Strategy teams follow a hypothesis-driven, empirical approach to problem solving similar to that adopted by major consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG). Project teams are small (typically 2-4 people) and will work on a project for up to six months. Projects begin by establishing a strong fact-base, working closely with businesses on both short- and long-term solutions, and culminating in a recommendation readout with senior leadership. When someone joins a JPMorganChase Strategy team, they accelerate their career by working on impactful and complex projects with high visibility, and they become part of a highly collaborative organization that prioritizes learning, professional development, and mentorship. Analysts will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge topics at the frontier of financial services, including firmwide AI adoption, growth strategy, new market and product entry, operating model design, and firmwide efficiency initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own a well-scoped workstream within a project, applying structured problem-solving to address top strategic priorities
  • Develop project-specific content and domain knowledge quickly, and actively participate in team problem-solving sessions
  • Gather, model, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to test hypotheses, identify trends, and surface key insights
  • Produce presentation materials to summarize findings and recommendations and influence senior leaders
  • Help guide client interviews to gather baseline information and work with internal client teams to define business pain points and opportunities
  • Work closely with stakeholders across lines of business and functional areas to develop and refine recommended solutions
  • Manage workstream deadlines and timeframes, proactively escalating issues as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with project Vice President and Associates to drive the project to completion
  • Be receptive to coaching and feedback via an apprenticeship model

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience, demonstrated through internships, research, case competitions, student consulting/strategy organizations, or other leadership experiences requiring structured problem-solving and analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to structure complex problems, applying quantitative analytical approaches to arrive at clear recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an open, collaborative, team-oriented operating style and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently to senior audiences
  • Ability to manage key elements of a workstream to completion, escalating and seeking help where necessary
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new subjects quickly

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Financial services or consulting background or internship experience
  • Strong capabilities across the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint & Excel
  • Comfort using the latest AI tools and platforms in day-to-day work to drive operational efficiency
