About the position:

The Head of Agency Middle Office is responsible for leading a team of Agency professionals and overseeing the agency function for a diverse portfolio lending transactions where ING serves in the capacity of Admin Agent or similar Agency function. This role serves as the primary escalation point for complex agency matters and is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality agency services to borrowers, lenders, and internal stakeholders. The position partners closely with Origination, Lending, Legal, Risk, Operations, and external counterparties to manage transaction execution, governance, risk oversight, and client service. In addition, the role is responsible for the continued development of the Agency Middle Office function, including process enhancement, control framework development, team leadership, and implementation of scalable operating practices.

About the department:

The Agency Middle Office team manages all aspects of the Administrative Agent function for transactions where ING Capital LLC serves as Administrative Agent and/or Collateral Agent. The team acts as a central point of coordination between borrowers, lender groups, legal counsel, consultants, and other various stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a transaction. The department is focused on delivering best in class agency services while maintaining strong operational controls, risk management, and client engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Agency Middle Office team, including direct management and ongoing development of team members, while overseeing ING Capital LLCs Administrative Agency function.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and subject matter expert for complex agency matters, including amendments, waivers, consents, documentation interpretation, and lender approvals.
  • Develop and support the Agency personnel through staffing, training, performance management, workload prioritization, and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, consultants, and internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted partner throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Maintain a centralized agency pipeline across sectors to support capacity planning and resource management.
  • Drive process improvement, standardization, and innovative enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery across the agency portfolio.
  • Maintain strong risk controls and governance by ensuring compliance with legal documentation, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and LSTA agency market standards.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in an Agency Middle/Front Office role, preferably highly structured transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, Debt Domain, Loan IQ or other loan systems.
  • Expertise in documentation review, lifecycle management, stakeholder coordination, & risk oversight.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to develop teams, drive process improvements, manage complex priorities, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary Range: $164,000-209,000

The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
