We're looking for a strategic and analytically minded Credit Risk Manager to lead provisioning and, forecasting workstreams, and provide account management oversight across a dynamic retail lending portfolio. This is an opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, drive regulatory excellence, and play a key role in protecting and strengthening the bank's financial performance.

This isn't just about reporting numbers. You'll be at the centre of key risk decisions, balancing commercial outcomes with regulatory requirements while helping shape the future direction of retail credit risk. What you'll do

  • Lead the end-to-end provisioning and forecasting process for retail lending portfolios, delivering robust insights that support strategic decision-making and financial planning.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and emerging risk trends, using data and analytics to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and recommend actions that protect portfolio health.

  • Partner with senior leaders across Risk, Finance, Product and Operations, providing clear, data-driven recommendations that influence key business and risk decisions.

  • Drive compliance with regulatory and accounting requirements, ensuring provisioning methodologies, governance frameworks and reporting practices meet internal and external expectations.

  • Oversee account management, collections and hardship strategies, balancing customer outcomes with effective risk management to optimise portfolio performance.

  • Lead deep-dive portfolio reviews and scenario analysis, translating complex data into meaningful insights and forward-looking risk forecasts.

  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation, enhancing risk management approaches, forecasting models and operational processes to deliver better business outcomes.

  • Prepare and present insights to executive committees and senior stakeholders, confidently communicating risks, trends and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

What we're looking for

  • Proven credit risk management experience (5+ years) with a deep understanding of credit risk principles within the Banking or Financial Services industry

  • Experience with SAS, SQL, R or Python to manipulate large data sets

  • Sound knowledge of banking products and trends in the banking industry

  • Broad experience in credit risk analytics, with an understanding of the credit lifecycle and key credit functions

  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory and accounting frameworks such as IFRS 9 and APS 220 is highly considered

  • The ability to balance risk management with commercial objectives, acknowledging the broader business context when making key recommendations

  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to build trusted relationships across the business
