Tech Specialist - IWS Scheduler Admin

Role purpose

Enterprise Integration Platform /EIP (formerly DIGIBA) is a key area within IT Technology / CTO/ Enterprise technology that supports all infrastructure RTB and CTB activities for key projects related to EIP product and services asociated to Batch processing (Schedulers iSeries/ IWS/ Control M), and File Transmissions (Sterling File Gateway and Connect direct) as well as Batch Operations activities and nowadays with HIP integration adding support for Web Technologies Messaging and Integration (MSGINT), Directory Services.

Were a global team with an established footprint across Asia (Hong Kong, China, India), Europe (Poland, UK) and Americas (US, MX), and we continue to expand to support delivery across regions. Joining the team means working at the centre of HSBCs EIP enablementpartnering with multiple lines of business and functions across regions to turn provide proper support ane enable orchestration solutions for BPS/IBS to deliver measurable business value.

Senior Specialist with an ability to manage IWS Scheduler admin, including installation / upgrading the system, configuration, restoring, testing the system and clear understanding of zOS platform

Main activities:

  • Mainframe batch scheduler management
  • Ensuring delivery to the customer while adhering to established global standards and best practice
  • Maintain and exceed existing SLAs and always ensure compliance to HSBC policies
  • Actively participate in achieving organizational efficiency objectives and undertake analysis on day-to-day work to drive automation on deliveries thereby minimizing repetitive and standardized tasks/processes.
  • Ensure the best practices are used to support the diverse customer group
  • Work closely with the stakeholders to avail/impart all necessary training from time to time to ensure enhanced service delivery Deliver the solutions / deliverables per the agreed requirements with regards to project timelines
  • Work on critical / complex incidents & issues and ensure completion within agreed deadlines.
  • Perform Project Management activities as may be applicable in the project
  • Expect to provide the 24*7 On-call support as per business requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills - mandatory
  • Solid and proven experience of managing IWS scheduler environment (v11.3 or later) e.g. configuring the product, applying updates, performing system upgrades, executing disaster recovery / resilience testing.
  • Solid and proven experience of testing, evaluating, and deploying new product functionality and / or fix packs released by the vendor
  • Solid and proven experience of providing production support / troubleshooting for IWS infrastructure issues
  • Strong Mainframe background and knowledge of z/OS
  • Proven project management skills and adoption of agile working practices
  • Experience of working with or building Job Control Language (JCL)
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
