We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join in the role of Associate Director, Treasury Solutions Group. This is a role within HSBCs Global Payments Solutions (GPS) business, based in Hong Kong / Singapore.

Global Payment Solutions (GPS) is made up of almost 10,000 people, across more than 50 countries. The business is uniquely positioned to help clients make payments across borders, across currencies and regulations, quickly and efficiently with dedicated country and regional and global support. Our expertise in this area is repeatedly recognised by the industrys most prominent publications and associations with numerous global, regional and country awards.

Treasury Solutions Group (TSG) is a function in GPS that creates a differentiated value proposition for clients seeking to actively transform their treasury, guiding them in their journey with our knowledge, experience and best practice. TSG expertise help client treasuries identify needs and challenges and help solve these in a holistic and collaborative way.

The role is to be responsible for the development and execution of the TSG practice and will have a predominantly market and client facing focus. The role demands a proactive and continuous engagement with key clients and client-facing functions in an advisory capacity across a range of payments, liquidity and treasury topics. As a thought leader, the role holder will be required to represent GPS and HSBC in external public forums, media and events on such topics.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a high impact strategic advisor to our corporate and institutional clients helping them grow their digital businesses through innovative payment solutions. This includes working with clients Treasury, Strategy and tech teams
  • Collaborate with frontline (Sales and Coverage) teams to support pre-sales engagements by enabling frontline teams strategic client conversations whilst positioning and socialising HSBC solutions early in the client journey.
  • Build scalable TSG capabilities by developing data-driven benchmarking and diagnostic tools including treasury review frameworks, problem-definition and gap-assessment methodologies, recommendation playbooks, and best-practice artefacts informed by client work and internal expertise.
  • Lead globally consistent training and thought leadership programs (including industry speaking engagements and event content) on treasury, payments, and emerging technology and ecosystem trends to external audiences across organizational levels.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Established payments expert, with significant industry experience working within a high-growth Fintech, Payment Service Provider (PSP), or e-commerce marketplaces.
  • Deep understanding of the full payments stack: Card Schemes (Visa/Mastercard), Alternative Payment Methods (APMs), Real-time Payments (e.g., FPS, PayNow), and FX/Cross-border mechanics, including Strong grasp of the regulatory landscapes in Asia (HKMA, MAS) and how they impact MSBs and TPPPs covering business growth as well as optimise risk and compliance
  • Practical experience of applying data-driven methodologies to design, deploy and measure performance of end-to-end payment ecosystems covering the above.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; to communicate with impact, on topics and themes which are top of mind of stakeholders (internal and external) ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audience.
  • Strong and effective stakeholder management skills, ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust with clients and stakeholders.
