HSBC Global Private Banking helps high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients manage, grow, and preserve their wealth for generations to come. Our network of global experts helps clients access investment opportunities around the world, plan for future with wealth and succession planning, manage their portfolio with tailored solutions, and find the right support for their philanthropy.

For the right candidate, the role will entail leading a team of fixed income specialists as the Head of Fixed Income, including setting the desks strategic direction and being accountable for the fixed income offering including advisory, trade execution and commercial ownership of the fixed income business across the Private Banking and Wealth continuum in IWPB, Singapore.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Fixed Income Specialist, Southeast Asia.

In this role you will:

  • Act as a senior product partner to Relationship Managers, Investment Counsellors, and key stakeholders to help embed fixed income into holistic wealth conversations with clients.
  • Help drive revenue, AUM, and client penetration targets for the fixed income business across the Private Banking and Wealth continuum.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities across primary and secondary bond markets, structured credit, and yield-enhancement solutions.
  • Ensure all advisory activity, suitability assessments, and product recommendations comply with HSBC policy, regulations, and global governance standards.
  • Escalate and manage conduct, suitability, or reputational risk issues in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team as needed. For the right candidate, the role will entail leading a team of fixed income specialists.

To be successful you will need:

  • Minimum 15 years of fixed income experience within private banking, wealth management, or institutional markets, with deep expertise across credit, rates, and structured products.
  • Proven track record of product ownership and driving AUM and revenue growth in a client-facing fixed income advisory capacity. People management experience, having built, led, or mentored a team of specialists.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to engage UHNW clients, family offices, and internal senior stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory and suitability frameworks applicable to private banking and premier wealth advisory in Singapore
  • Relevant qualifications in Finance or Economics or related disciplines. CFA charterholders well regarded
  • Relevant Singapore regulatory certifications (e.g. CMFAS modules and CACS) required or to be obtained within an agreed timeframe

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role. HSBC Group reserves its position with regards to any steps which it may take in relation to any material adverse findings which arise either when the checks are originally completed, and/or if relevant, on an ongoing basis.
