Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Investment Counsellor

In this role you will:

  • Accountable for assessing client need, developing and communicating a comprehensive core portfolio investment strategy, implementation plan and execution. Monitoring to ensure portfolio aligns with clients overall pre-agreed objective and risk profile on an on-going basis.
  • Focus on constructing, implementing and executing a single bond portfolio.
  • Provide updates on investment opportunities to clients, prospects and Relationship Managers
  • Coordinate with Investment Services and Product Solutions Group team members to ensure consistency of strategic and tactical approach
  • Provide input and support for the development of new business initiatives and product enhancement. Maintain current knowledge of competitors investment capabilities, product offering and pricing policies
  • Identify and communicate issues or limitations related to product, platform, operations, systems or pricing
  • Ensure integrity of sales process and compliance with all HSBC and regulatory policies. Follow HSBC Global Standards in compliance and risk control, and champion HSBC Values.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in fixed income portfolio management/ sell side / advisory in private banks useful
  • Proven track record in investment advisory
  • Knowledge of private banking business onshore and offshore, and competitive and regulatory environment Client focused, with strong sales, analytic, technical, teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Strong negotiation, complex problem resolution, communication and presentation written and oral skills
  • Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity
  • Fluency in English / Cantonese / Mandarin is required
