Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a IFRS Reporting Actuarial Head.
In this role you will:
- IFRS 17 delivery and governance: Own end-to-end IFRS 17 actuarial production, review, sign-off coordination and on-time submission of IFRS 17 results, including key disclosures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- IFRS 17 production oversight (CSM engine and interfaces): Provide overall accountability for CSM engine run governance (run configuration, inputs, approvals, monitoring and output validation) and ensure effective interfaces between actuarial models, the CSM engine and the finance ledger/reporting layer.
- Results analytics and movement attribution: Lead period-on-period movement analysis and management commentary (e.g., CSM roll-forward, insurance revenue, fulfilment cash flows and key variances).
- Controls, model governance, and audit readiness: Enhance controls across data, assumptions, model changes and outputs to ensure integrity, traceability and audit-ready documentation. Proactively manage audit queries and deliver timely and sustainable closure of findings.
- Stakeholder and dependency management: Partner with Finance, Risk, IT and relevant Group counterparties to align reporting requirements, manage dependencies, resolve data/process issues, and ensure consistent, well-governed outcomes across reporting cycles.
- Policy documentation and standards compliance: Maintain local IFRS 17 actuarial reporting documentation (methodology, process maps, controls and key judgements) and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation and standards compliance.
- Team leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the IFRS reporting actuarial team (including managers/workstream leads such as the Associate Actuarial Director level). Set clear objectives and quality standards, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Accountability for IFRS 17 change governance: Own prioritisation and delivery oversight for methodology, assumption and system changes impacting IFRS 17 reporting, ensuring appropriate governance and controlled implementation.
- Process optimisation and automation: Design and implement streamlined workflows to reduce manual effort and operational risk. Apply automation and visualisation to improve efficiency, control and transparency.
To be successful you will need:
- Solid experience in actuarial financial reporting and/or valuation roles, with strong exposure to IFRS 17 reporting and close cycles.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or another recognised actuarial body.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building effective relationships internally and externally.
- Strong analytical rigour and structured problem-solving able to translate ambiguity into practical actions.
- Clear communicator across written and verbal channels, including workshops and presentations.
- Proven planning, prioritisation, and delivery skills in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- High energy and resilience, with the ability to influence, engage, and lead in a positive, inclusive way.
