We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage project strategies, securing stakeholder engagement for project plans, commitments, and modifications.
  • Assist technology teams in managing delivery by balancing scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, communication, and budget.
  • Collaborate with the technology team and Product Owner to enhance productivity through effective backlog management and Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
  • Oversee and report on progress, issues, dependencies, and risks to programme management and stakeholders, providing recommendations to sustain delivery momentum and benefit realisation.
  • Ensure adherence to standard controls, driving teams towards compliance with frameworks, capability management, security controls, and technology architecture designs.
  • Support the prioritisation of capabilities within the Value Stream, including the creation of Capability Investment Cases and Capability Hypothesis Statements.
  • Identify and resolve delivery impediments, escalate issues to Portfolio/CIOs, and track key delivery risks and dependencies.
  • Manage governance forums such as VS Reviews, Portfolio Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, and QBR.
  • Maintain a comprehensive view of resource demand across the Value Stream (geography, skillset, grade), establish long-term capacity plans with stakeholders, and manage Value Stream-level delivery reporting (self-service and exception reporting for senior stakeholders).

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years in Business & Project Management, including project management in the banking domain.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), and hybrid delivery models.
  • Knowledge of Avaloq technology (added advantage).
  • Ability to manage distributed teams and lead multiple teams through subordinate managers, with accountability for independent budgets.
  • Broad understanding of concepts and principles across multiple or rapidly evolving disciplines.
  • Advanced understanding of value units, products, regions, and legal entities, including HSBCs product and service positioning.
  • Ability to handle diverse activities requiring complex judgements and solutions, applying strategic vision and analysis; makes decisions within strategic guidelines aligned to long-term business goals.
  • Strong business planning, continuous improvement ownership (end-to-end implementation), and high-level interactive listening, negotiation, and influencing skills.
