We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Financial Crime Risk Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Support the Financial Crime Risk agenda for the Hong Kong Insurance Business, partnering with Second Line Compliance to continually assess the local risk environment and ensure alignment with Group strategy and relevant regulatory priorities.
  • Support the implementation of Financial Crime Risk policy and procedure updates (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering) across the Hong Kong Insurance Business.
  • Support the delivery of Financial Crime Risk control enhancements, streamlining, and remediation activities. This includes providing constructive challenge to existing practices and proposed initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing practical, innovative solutions. Ensure controls implemented are appropriate and proportionate to the relevant functions within the Hong Kong Insurance Business.
  • Manage Management Self-Identified Issues (MSIIs) by maintaining effective oversight of action plans, ensuring actions are robust, appropriately evidenced, and delivered on time to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide clear, timely, and effective communication to stakeholders, ensuring a transparent view of the Financial Crime Compliance environment and key risk matters.
  • Ensure compliance and operational risk controls are maintained in line with HSBC standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Respond to regulators, Audit, and Assurance teams on Financial Crime Risk assurance activities for the Hong Kong Insurance Business, including preparing and submitting materials, coordinating responses, tracking remediation of findings, and conducting read-across exercises where required.

To be successful you will need:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) required; relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
  • Professional certification such as CAMS (or equivalent AML/financial crime qualification) is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in financial crime risk management, compliance, or a related risk/control role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of the local regulatory environment is an advantage; experience applying local regulatory requirements in practical risk and control decisions is preferred.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, with the ability to influence across senior and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading complex initiatives end-to-end, with strong project governance, prioritization, and time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced ability to interpret, analyse, and present complex data to drive risk decisions and performance improvements.
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
