Temporary Management Accountant

Location: West London
Contract: Temporary (2 months +)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week

We are working with a well-established education organisation in West London to recruit a Temporary Management Accountant to support its finance function.

This is a broad and hands-on role, offering responsibility for management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and month-end processes.

The role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, forecasts, cash flow reports and variance analysis
  • Managing month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Supporting budget monitoring and longer-term financial planning
  • Assisting with statutory and regulatory financial reporting
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and efficiencies
  • Maintaining accurate financial data and supporting finance system improvements
  • Providing financial analysis to support decision-making
  • Assisting with procurement, contract and risk management activities

About you

The successful candidate will be a proactive and detail-focused finance professional with:

  • Previous experience preparing management accounts
  • Strong month-end and financial reporting experience
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong Excel and finance systems experience
  • Experience within the education, public sector or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous, but is not essential
