Job Duties: Vice President, Banker Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Actively participate in the firms business development process for the Insurance Group and drive analysis and deliverables that underpin the firms financial advisory services, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, takeover defense and restructuring. Analyze, structure, and execute transactions on behalf of corporate clients, with a focus in insurance sector, including overseeing preparation of marketing materials, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents with legal and third-party representatives, organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshow meetings, and liaising with other investment banks and internal teams. Lead and guide preparation of detailed financial analysis including merger consequences, discounted cash flow analysis and leveraged buyout valuations, as well as relative valuations based on comparable companies and precedent transactions within the Insurance sector. Review financial and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections, and models prepared by corporate insurance clients, such as insurance companies. Present to and lead dialogue with corporate clients (including insurance companies), including at the CEO/CFO level, on topics such as strategic alternatives, industry update, capital markets activities, restructuring alternatives and corporate governance issues at board of director meetings, conventional client meetings, and on conference calls. Lead the production of presentation materials including but not limited to pitches, marketing documents, industry overview presentations and strategic alternative presentations. Develop expertise around various industry trends, themes and business models across coverage universe to enable providing differentiated advisory services to clients. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior bankers on the team to facilitate a positive junior banker experience and improve employee retention. 

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Management Science, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Masters degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Management Science, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include five (5) years of experience (with a Bachelors) or three (3) years of experience (with a Masters) with: utilizing Microsoft excel for data analysis and handling including visual representation of data, valuation analysis and insurance financial modeling; utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint to develop presentations, including insurance industry updates, pitches, transaction materials and marketing documents; executing M&A transactions and capital raising including debt, equity and other structured financing solutions in public and private markets for corporate clients operating in the insurance sector; serving as a point of contact in regular interactions with corporate development, treasury and other strategy teams of insurance companies; reading and analyzing insurance company GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and statutory filings and actuarial reports & appraisals and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data for financials analysis; conducting insurance market research on the broader landscape as well as specific insurance companies across Life, Property and Casualty and insurance brokerage sectors; and supporting actuarial and operational due diligence processes including maintaining Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs), tracking information requests, reviewing diligence materials and summarizing findings. Up to 15% domestic or international travel required for client meetings. All travel costs covered by the firm.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York -based position is $250,000 - $270,000.
