TEAM DESCRIPTION

As an Associate / Vice President within the Equity Derivative Sales team in Hong Kong or Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our equity derivatives and structured solutions franchise across the APAC region. This is a client-facing role requiring a sophisticated understanding of global equity derivatives markets, volatility strategies, equity swaps, and structured equity products.

You will be responsible for distributing best-in-class ideas and structured equity solutions to institutional clientsincluding hedge funds, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and insurance companies. You will collaborate closely with global trading desks, structuring, technology, operations, and compliance to deliver seamless, top-tier service. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Business Development & Origination: Identify, target, and secure new institutional client mandates for equity derivative products (including vanilla and exotic options, equity swaps, variance swaps, dispersion/correlation, and structured equity solutions) across Hong Kong and the broader APAC region.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of sophisticated institutional clients, understanding their investment objectives, risk tolerances, and operational workflows.
  • Market & Product Advisory: Provide clients with timely equity market intelligence, volatility insights, regulatory updates (e.g., SFC, HKMA), and strategic execution ideas.
  • Cross-Asset Collaboration: Partner with Prime Services, Equity Execution, and other Equities sales and trading desks to deliver the full suite of Goldman Sachs' capabilities to clients.
  • Onboarding & Integration: Lead the end-to-end client onboarding process, coordinating with Legal, Credit Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure efficient setup and risk mitigation.
  • Product Innovation: Work with product and engineering teams to enhance our electronic trading platforms, algorithmic execution tools, and post-trade clearing portals based on client feedback.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WERE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in institutional equity derivative sales, structured equity products, or equity prime brokerage.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of global equity derivatives markets, volatility trading, exchange rules, margin methodologies, and electronic execution platforms.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of presenting to C-suite executives and portfolio managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established network of institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers, real money, or family offices) in Hong Kong and the wider APAC region.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to discuss complex margin, capital efficiency, and portfolio optimization strategies.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese is highly preferred to facilitate coverage of regional clients.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading floor environment.
