TEAM & ROLE OVERVIEW

Joining the Event Management team, you will partner with key business stakeholders and team members to develop and execute an event marketing strategy, which includes management of events and conferences with a keen focus on best practices, commercial excellence and consistency in delivery, along with effective risk management.  Goldman Sachs events are critical to maintaining the image of the firm and assisting in the development of key client relationships.      

Reporting to a senior Vice President within the Event Management Group in London, this role supports event strategy, providing project management support and overseeing the execution of events and conferences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the planning and delivery of a portfolio of firm events, assisting with budgeting, venue and supplier management, project coordination, logistics planning, onsite execution, and post-event reporting and evaluation. 
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior colleagues, to support successful event delivery throughout the event lifecycle. 
  • Assist with managing event budgets, tracking expenses, processing invoices, and supporting post-event reconciliation and reporting to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to approved budgets. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to help develop event messaging and materials that align with the firm's brand and communication objectives. 
  • Provide project coordination support to host teams, helping to ensure milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met. 
  • Take ownership of assigned workstreams and contribute to the successful delivery of events through proactive planning, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Support compliance with firm policies, processes, and regulatory requirements, helping to protect the firm's reputation and maintain operational excellence.
  • Develop knowledge of event management best practices, building expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and event execution
     

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree preferred; however, we welcome candidates with strong organizational and communication skills, a demonstrated interest in event management, and relevant experience gained through internships, part-time work, studies or extracurricular activities.
  • Experience supporting events through internships, university projects, part-time roles, extracurricular activities, or other relevant experiences is desirable but not required. Exposure to financial services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of conferences and event management, including areas such as budgeting, audiovisual requirements, stage production, registration, speaker management, and virtual event platforms, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with effective time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver with strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, creativity, and an interest in exploring innovative approaches and solutions.
  • Commercially aware with an interest in developing negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • High level of personal integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
