In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Sampling pre-crush and final product export material prior to shipment, in order to ensure that customer specifications are met;
  • Tipping, collecting, cleaning and preparing sample bins received back from the laboratory in order to ensure the prevention of cross-contamination of samples;
  • Taking samples through plant automatic sampling system in order to ensure the quality and specifications of product for future shipment purposes;
  • Drawing future shipment or non-routine samples from the stockpiled material according to the ISO standards;
  • Taking samples for road and rail dispatches in order to ensure that the correct product has been loaded, and meet customer specifications;
  • Maintaining stockpiles management, in order to prevent contamination;
  • Ensuring that all stockpiles are accurately labelled with the correct ID boards in order to ensure the accuracy of the final product leaving the smelter;
  • Registering all samples taken in a sample control book (Chemical, Moisture and Screens), taking the samples to the preparation room and collecting empty bins for re-use;
  • Taking samples to conduct a sieve analysis in order to ensure the sizing of final product meet client specifications;
  • Ensuring good housekeeping on the floor in order to promote safety at work;
  • Performing adhoc tasks as required by the business such as to, take non-routine samples, repeat samples etc. relieve as a Plant Operator, Final Product Operator, Weighbridge Operator, Final Product Attendant;
  • Ensuring an accurate and complete handover to the change of shift in respect of material loaded and new stockpiles created, in order to ensure that contamination does not occur due to miscommunication; and
  • Performing any other related duties as per supervisors instruction.

  

About you:

 Grade 12 or equivalent;

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a final product handling or sampling environment;
  • Medically fit in terms of OHSA;
  • Proficient in English; and
  • Knowledge of the HSEC systems.
