The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Reliability Lead to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

This is a full-time, permanent, staff position.

Range of Pay: $157,000 to $175,000 plus annual variable compensation bonus

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

Reporting to the Director of Strathcona Mill, the Reliability Lead is accountable for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of all assets at the Mill. The role provides leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of reliability strategies and programs aimed at improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, increasing throughput and optimizing asset management processes.

The position works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Process Control, Engineering, and Reliability teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The incumbent is responsible for developing and promoting an Operate for Reliability culture by understanding and managing operational influences on equipment reliability to sustain asset integrity and performance.

Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your growth in this role.

Education and Skills

The role requires 810 years of relevant experience in maintenance reliability within an industrial environment, preferably in mineral processing, supported by a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates must be registered members of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and possess strong knowledge of reliability principles, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Condition-Based Monitoring.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with experience mentoring and developing teams. Proficiency with reliability and maintenance management systems, strong attention to detail, and commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement are essential.
