In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Developing and presenting feasibility studies relating to projects, including needs analysis and risk management;
  • Managing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements;
  • Coordinating and overseeing multiple capital and operational projects across the Smelter operation;
  • Managing and mentoring Projects Coordinators and providing leadership to project teams;
  • Ensuring compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality requirements;
  • Monitoring project progress and implementing risk management controls where required;
  • Managing external resources (contractors and service providers) to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and site standards;
  • Facilitating project meetings and providing regular progress reports to management;
  • Identifying project risks and implementing corrective action and mitigation strategies;
  • Ensuring project documentation, change management, and governance requirements are met and maintained;
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function; and
  • Ensuring successful project commissioning, handover, and close-out. 


About you:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline;
  • Project Management qualification or certification;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Minimum 8 years experience in project coordination, project management, or engineering projects within a Mining, Smelting, Processing, Heavy Industrial, or Manufacturing environment;
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to completion;
  • Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, cost control, resource management, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Proficient in the understanding and managing of contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Knowledge of SAP4Hana, MS Projects or similar project management systems;
  • Proficient in English written language;
  • Medically fit in terms of OHSAct; and
  • Knowledge of HSEC Systems.
