Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrical Superintendent to join our established and dedicated team in our Process Plant.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australias largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WAs northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this leadership role is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of electrical maintenance activities across the operation, leading a team of approximately 46 personnel including Coordinators, Supervisors, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, Refrigeration Technicians and apprentices.

This role is critical to maintaining electrical asset integrity, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and fostering a strong safety culture within a high-risk operational environment.

The successful candidate will provide visible leadership across the department, ensuring electrical maintenance activities are executed safely, critical controls remain effective, and electrical risks are proactively managed to support safe and reliable production outcomes.

You will be responsible for:
  • Lead and develop a large electrical maintenance team within a complex mining and processing environment.
  • Promote and embed a strong safety-first culture through visible leadership and field engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, company standards and electrical safety requirements.
  • Drive Fatal Hazard Protocol compliance and Critical Control Management activities relating to electrical energy.
  • Ensure safe execution of high-risk electrical work including isolations, energisations and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain electrical asset reliability and availability to support safe and efficient production.
  • Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies that optimise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
  • Build leadership capability and technical competence across the Electrical Department.
  • Manage electrical maintenance budgets, planning activities and operational priorities.

About You


You are an experienced electrical leader with a demonstrated ability to lead teams in complex, high-risk industrial environments.

You understand that leadership in electrical maintenance extends beyond technical expertise and requires a relentless focus on safety, risk management, compliance and workforce engagement.

To be successful in this role you will possess:
  • Electrical Trade Qualification and current Electrical Workers Licence.
  • Extensive leadership experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, oil & gas, power generation or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical risk management principles and controls.
  • Demonstrated experience managing electrical maintenance teams and contractors.
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments with significant statutory obligations.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance systems, reliability principles and asset management.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills.
  • A strong commitment to fostering positive safety behaviours and cultural improvement.

Highly desirable:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Statutory Supervisor qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
  • Experience managing high-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure.
