Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Superintendent to join our team at HVO. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the Contracts team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leadership and mentoring of the Contracts function to optimise contracted outcomes for HVO.

  • Driving a culture that facilitates teamwork, continuous improvement and adherence with business processes and policies in a timely manner.

  • Using your knowledge and insights to drive improved commercial outcomes for the site by providing expert strategic contracts advice to stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage the timeline to renew contracts and to develop new contracts for capital scopes and for new services to enable the site to successfully execute its budgeted activities in a safe, efficient and cost-effective services.

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday day shift roster

  • Based on site at HVO (1011 Lemington Road, 30kms West of Singleton)

About You

  • A high commitment to safety and a strong continuous improvement approach.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar senior level leadership role within the resources sector (preferred).

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a business/commerce or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience managing requests for tender, the evaluation and negotiation of tenders, the development of contracts and management of contractors.

  • Ability to apply commercial acumen to business decisions.

  • Be a strong influencer and negotiator with proven analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships within all levels of the business, internal and external.

  • Proven experience in a large ERP system (SAP preferred).
