The Role
We are looking for a dynamic leader to develop and serve on the new Advanced Operations and Recovery team within the Technology Resiliency and Recovery (TRR) function. As the Director of Advanced Operations, you will be responsible for leading the facilitation of enterprise-level resiliency, results gathering, analysis, and reporting of results to applicable management teams. This role will engage key business operations and/or technology stakeholders to discuss current and emerging risk exposures, articulate the need and options to remediate gaps, and drive the overall TRR Program forward through a continuous improvement cycle to meet Fidelity business goals, objectives, and applicable compliance and audit mandates.
- Coordinate the creation and maintenance of Fidelity recovery capabilities at mass scale for firm-wide recovery
- Partner with BUs to define, inventory and sequence critical business services
- Partner with IT product and support teams to map application dependencies to critical business services
- Assess effectiveness and validate documented architecture patterns
- Identify architecture pattern deviations, track and escalate remediations
- Have deep and broad technology engineering experience (e.g., systems architecture, cloud technologies, networking, security, storage)
- Respond to emerging technology resiliency challenges and changes
- Solve complicated problems, demonstrate confidence with unanticipated situations, and the ability to help find innovative ways to mitigate risk using advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exhibits executive presence. Communicates clearly, concisely and impactfully to influence others; tailoring messaging to the audience.
- Participating in the incident response program and recovery activities for business operations, technology or vendor disruptions (on call rotation/including off hours).
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10-15 years demonstrated ability and familiarity with a range of technology platforms and environments such as cloud services, open/distributed systems, and mainframe.
- Experience collaborating across business units and products including third parties to analyze and test response capabilities.
- Exposure to defining and setting architecture standards, and the ability to review technical configurations.
- You understand the interaction across the technology stack from an application, middleware, database, server, router, network, and storage devices.
- Familiarity with data replication technologies and methods as well as cloud and hybrid cloud configurations and solutions.
- Experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity or Risk related programs
- Functional knowledge and experience with emergency response and crisis management (preferred).
- Mentors Junior members of the team and experience building knowledge management.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics or Risk Management Discipline.

The Technology Resiliency and Recovery team is part of the Corporate Risk organization. The team provides strategic oversight, development, and execution of Fidelitys technology resiliency program, ensuring critical business operations can continue through technology disruptions by identifying, managing, and mitigating technology risk.
