At EY, were all in to shape your future with confidence.

Well help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.  Join EY and help to build a better working world.

EY is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace and the only professional services firm with a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry the Financial Services Organization (FSO). Our focused model and bold ambition have put us at the center of events that continue to reshape and redefine our industry, working side by side with a range of clients from our most venerable institutions to dynamic new entrants across Banking and Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, and Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction. Our purpose is to help build a financial services industry in which financial institutions are trusted and flourish, and the global economy is healthy, growing, and secure. If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!

The opportunity

At EY, our actuarial advisers help insurers solve their most complex challenges and pursue new growth. As a Senior Manager in our Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services (IAAS) practice, you will lead engagement teams, advise senior client stakeholders, and help shape how actuarial work is delivered in an era of transformation and AI. In your first months, you might lead a modeling or financial reporting transformation for a major life insurer, guide a reinsurance or capital initiative, and begin counseling team members you help develop.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead complex actuarial advisory engagements from scope through delivery, balancing quality, commercial outcomes, risk and budget.
  • Advise chief actuaries, controllers and finance leaders, translating complex issues into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Bring depth in one or more areas such as modeling, actuarial audit, financial and regulatory reporting, transformation, product strategy, reinsurance or capital management and grow into others over time.
  • Lead, coach and develop diverse teams, and serve as a counselor invested in others' growth.
  • Build client relationships, help originate new work, and shape how we apply AI and new technology to deliver better outcomes.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field.
  • Approximately 8+ years of relevant actuarial experience, including leading people and/or complex projects.
  • Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA), or a comparable actuarial credential and equivalent depth.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. life, health and/or annuity products.
  • Demonstrated depth in at least one actuarial advisory discipline, with the interest to grow into adjacent areas.
  • Strong writing, presentation, analytical, project management and interpersonal skills, and willingness to travel (typically 10-30%).

Ideally, youll also have

You don't need all of these strength in one or two, plus the curiosity to grow, is exactly what we want:

  • Experience across one or more actuarial domains, such as modeling, audit, financial reporting, transformation, reinsurance or capital management.
  • Knowledge of reporting or regulatory frameworks such as U.S. statutory, GAAP, LDTI or IFRS 17.
  • Experience with long-term care or other health and protection products, including modeling, reserving, assumption development, financial reporting, or audit and assurance.
  • Familiarity with modeling platforms (e.g., AXIS, Prophet, Integrate) or tools such as Python or R.
  • Experience originating work and building long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders.

What we look for

We are looking for adaptable, collaborative actuarial leaders who combine genuine expertise with versatility and sound judgment. You are a strong communicator, self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by solving unfamiliar problems and helping clients and colleagues navigate change. You do not need to be an expert in every discipline; what matters is the depth to lead with credibility, the humility to draw on others, and the agility to keep learning.

We offer a competitive compensation package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
