Position Overview

Details of the Division and Team:

Responsible for being the first point of contact for our external clients from inception to account closure. The purpose of the client services function is to enhance the clients experience with Deutsche Bank through supporting any queries, building a strong relationship with our clients and broadcasting client related information to the banks various departments. While the primary support is for Japanese clients, the expectation of this role is to also serve as a support for APAC clients as part of the regional FXPB and HausFX Client Service team.

Your key responsibilities:

a) Client Relationship Management

  • Managing phone/group inboxes and ensuring client queries are attended in a timely fashion.
  • Conducting system walkthroughs for clients.
  • Acting as the Relationship Manager to facilitate coordination between the client and PB Transition for all onboarding and offboarding requests.
  • Visit clients with relevant business to review the service offering.

b) Control

  • Ensure that all reconciliation breaks, trade exceptions and settlements breaks are being attended to promptly.
  • Ensure team members globally are providing the appropriate service level to clients as well as follow the proper control guideline.

d) Trade event management

  • Provide operational support for FX trading activity during the Asia time zone, primarily for Japanese clients and covering regional/global clients as required.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve trade breaks, fails, and mismatches throughout the trade lifecycle, coordinating with internal teams and counterparties.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex operational issues, ensuring timely resolution, appropriate controls, and proactive client communication.
  • Monitor client Net Open Position (NOP) limits and coordinate with Risk and Credit teams on limit reviews as required.

e) Execution Management & Client Support

  • HausFX is Deutsche Banks execution automation service. Within HausFX, Maestro is a widely used workflow in Japan, supporting clients in rolling positions held with Deutsche Bank. The Client Service role is responsible for managing client enquiries and operational issues related to Maestro executions, including but not limited to:
  • executions not being triggered as expected,
  • requests to amend execution parameters,
  • non receipt of execution results, and
  • instances where executed rates are not aligned with client expectations.

f) Billing

  • Own oversight of monthly client billing processes, ensuring accuracy, timely issuance, and resolution of complex billing and reconciliation issues.
  • Follow up closely with client to ensure fees are being paid in a timely manner.

This role has significant interaction with internal teams globally (Collateral, Credit, IT, Legal, Onboarding, Options, Product, Rates PB, Sales, Settlements, Valuations, etc) and external clients round the globe. It is expected of the candidate to build strong working relationships internally and externally, to service and manage clients professionally. It will also be important for the candidate to engage Rates PB and OTC Clearing teams for cross-product clients and FX Clearing team in London to support FX Clearing clients during Asia time zone.

Your skills and experience:

  • The candidate should have at least 5 years of Investment Banking experience in a role which encompasses Client interaction, in addition to internal relationship management, and cross-departmental communication.
  • Capacity to take full ownership of a clients requests while displaying a mature and confident approach with clients will be paramount to the success of the applicant.
  • A strong understanding of the FX products is required, paired with a good knowledge on the Prime Brokerage business would be an advantage.
  • Strong desktop PC skills incl. a good knowledge of Microsoft package
  • Strong project and data management skills
  • Bachelors degree
  • Excellent team player with communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills; ability to identify and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
