Role Description

Operational Risk Management (ORM), as part of the Chief Risk Office (CRO), operates as an independent "2nd Line of Defence" function, collaborating with business and infrastructure areas ("1st Line of Defence") to manage the non-financial risks (i.e., operational and reputational risks) of the bank within the group-wide risk appetite and to improve the control environment. ORM defines the ORM framework for the appropriate identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, reporting, and escalation of non-financial risks.

Your key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of Operational Risk Management (ORM) principles, frameworks, and methodologies.

  • Possess a general comprehension of core risk management concepts, including the risk lifecycle and various risk mitigation strategies.

  • Exhibit knowledge of different types of risks within the Operational Risk Management world.

  • Show a willingness to learn and assist in the execution of risk identification and monitoring processes, including data collection and analysis.

  • Ability to support and adapt in the fast-paced risk environment.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelors degree/diploma or equivalent certification in banking, finance, economics or business administration

  • Good working experience in MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word knowledge), MS Access and Visual Basic would be an advantage

  • Very good eye for detail, and root cause analysis

  • Able to work as part of an international team, but also self-reliant

  • Good communication and project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • General understanding of working in a time critical space with Regulatory/Audit Focus

  • General knowledge of industry trends and standards, risk management practices, legal and regulatory changes

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
