Our market leading transformation approach aims to challenge conventional thinking around the delivery of major programmes, using a multidisciplinary capability to help our clients deliver their most critical and demanding issues while reinforcing Deloittes commitment to purpose-led change.
Our practice comprises a blend of those who have worked previously in industry (in both technical and non-technical roles) and those who have prior consulting experience. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of programmes, building your skills and experience on the job, as well as supporting our world class professional development approach. Major Programmes Communities
Within our Major programmes defence team, you'll be focused principally on working with clients in the South of England. This will likely include sites across London, Bristol, Portsmouth and Andover and therefore require flexibility to travel across sites.
Your role will allow you to:
- Lead activity to support the growth of client relationships, identifying opportunities
- within both existing and new clients and manage proposals to win work.
- Lead or support pursuits to grow the Major Programmes and Defence accounts.
- Help lead the design, development and transformation of major programmes, including programme strategy and set up, programme/portfolio delivery, capability and digital transformation, and assurance reviews.
- Lead client projects including development of engagement plans, production of deliverables, change management activities, and workshop/meeting facilitation across a wide range of propositions, focusing on Digital delivery and transformation, but also including:
- Scaled Delivery
- Operating Model design and implementation
- Programme leadership support and coaching
- Programme Governance
- PMO setup and operation
- Capability Development
- Establish external alliances with complementary organisations to enhance market offerings
- Help lead initiatives to aid the development of our propositions, solutions and methods, and industry points of view.

All applicants must hold UK security clearance or be eligible for a minimum of SC level.
Essential:
- Proven knowledge of Defence, its organisation and people ideally with a good understanding of the market areas procuring digital focused support.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects or programmes either in a management consulting or professional services firm at a senior level.
- Demonstrable understanding of key digital themes that are relevant to todays defence market e.g. Cyber, AI, Cloud, data and/or analytics
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and lead bids and proposals
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business through pursuits, networking and alliance development
- Ability to lead teams in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to engage effectively with client/stakeholders at all levels in an organisation.
- Problem solving, attention to detail, creative thinking and analytical skills.
- Self-starting with a high degree of personal motivation and drive.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form lasting relationships with both team members and clients.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Strong market relationships or sector profile in the Ministry of Defence
- Experience in engaging with Tech providers currently providing major digital products or services in Defence (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Service Now, Palantir etc)
- Existing contributions to thought leadership, propositions or internal capability building
- Existing UK security clearance (SC or above). If not existing, then must be eligible.
