As an Associate Director in Applied AI within our AI & Data team, you will lead the commercial growth and delivery of Applied AI solutions across our major Telecoms, Media & Technology (TMT) clients. You will originate and shape new opportunities, develop and take to market innovative service offerings, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, responsible and scalable AI outcomes.

As an Associate Director in Applied AI (TMT), you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the commercial strategy and origination targets for Applied AI offerings across major TMT accounts, owning opportunities from initial client conversation through to proposal and close.
  • Designing, packaging and selling new advanced AI services and solutions that address clear client problems in telecoms, media and technology.
  • Leading executive-level client engagements and pitching directly to C-suite stakeholders, translating model capabilities into operating cost impacts and product roadmap implications.
  • Directing the delivery of complex AI solutions and pipelines, guiding technical teams on architecture and engineering approaches while remaining accountable for delivery outcomes.
  • Taking responsibility for the secure deployment of large language models and associated tooling, ensuring appropriate controls, testing, monitoring and data protections are embedded in delivery.
  • Ensuring delivery follows responsible and ethical AI frameworks, including governance for model risk, privacy, bias, explainability and human oversight.
  • Hiring, developing and managing a consulting team, coaching performance and career growth while holding teams to strong delivery standards, utilisation and margin expectations.

Commercial and technical requirements

  • Proven history of originating and closing consulting sales and managing large accounts within the Technology, Media or Telecommunications sectors.
  • Strong commercial understanding of generative AI and the modern AI stack, including large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases and MLOps principles.
  • Hands-on experience leading delivery of production AI solutions (you guide architecture and engineering teams rather than writing or governing the code yourself), with clear accountability for outcomes.
  • Practical experience applying AI to at least one of: telco operations and customer service, media supply chains and content operations, or software engineering productivity and developer tooling.
  • Good understanding of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and their generative AI services, plus the security, data and operating model considerations required for enterprise deployment.
  • Ability to communicate complex machine learning concepts to senior stakeholders who care about business impact, costs, risk and time-to-value.

The following will be an added advantage:

  • Relevant certifications in cloud and AI (e.g., AWS, Azure or GCP; machine learning or data engineering certifications).
  • Experience establishing responsible AI practices (governance, risk and controls) for generative AI and advanced analytics.
  • Consulting experience leading multi-workstream programmes, including commercial management, estimation and delivery margin control.
  • Experience operating in Agile environments and collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver iterative value.

Additionally, we expect that you possess the following core consulting skills:

  • A strong focus on team working within diverse and remotely located teams
  • A "can do" attitude - Hands-on & flexible approach to emerging requirements and a real willingness to learn and participate
  • Good communication and people skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to different audiences within an organisation, and effectively engage with stakeholders ranging from subject matter experts to senior functional leads
  • Strong documentation ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working in fast-paced and demanding delivery-focused environments
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the delivery of market leading solutions that make a difference
  • Professional working proficiency in the English language
  • An ability to travel internationally and stay away from home for up to 5 days each week for specific durations of time based on defined programme needs or phases
