As part of the Danske Bank group, the team plays a crucial role in managing model risk across the organisation, ensuring trust and understanding in the models we use while adhering to regulatory and internal standards. About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Model Risk Framework & Reporting team. This role will support the continued enhancement and oversight of the firms model risk management framework, ensuring effective governance, inventory maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and policy maintenance across the model lifecycle.

In this role you will interact with stakeholders across risk management, model development, validation, technology, and business functions to strengthen MRM practices, improve governance processes, and support evolving regulatory expectations. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to automation initiatives and the adoption of AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
You will work closely with the Group Governance & Reporting team and report to the Head of Group Risk Strategy, within the ERM Area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and strengthen model risk management methodologies, governance processes, and control frameworks
  • Maintain and update MRM policies, standards, procedures, and related documentation
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across model development, validation, risk management, technology, and business teams to ensure effective coordination and alignment
  • Act as a key point of contact for governance-related discussions, reporting requirements, and remediation tracking
  • Support the development and implementation of model governance frameworks across the organization
  • Maintain the Groups model inventory system
  • Ensure effective monitoring, tracking, and reporting of model risk metrics, issues, and remediation activities
  • Prepare management and regulatory reporting related to model risk 
  • Drive initiatives focused on automation and process optimization to improve governance, reporting, and monitoring efficiency and support the adoption and effective use of AI-enabled tools and data-driven solutions within governance and reporting processes
  • Coordinate governance activities related to model inventory attestation, model lifecycle oversight, and committee reporting
  • Partner with model owners, validators, and risk stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations
  • Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and examinations related to model risk management
     

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset and a great interest in sound model risk management, you bring:

  • Masters degree or equivalent in Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience in model risk management, risk governance, internal controls or related areas within financial services, reporting, policy management, and risk monitoring processes
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidance related to model risk management (e.g., SR 11-7/SR26-2, ECB TRIM or equivalent frameworks, DFSA Executive Order on Management and Control of Banks, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of model governance frameworks and regulatory expectations related to model risk management
  • Ability to manage stakeholders effectively across multiple functions and seniority levels
  • Interest in or experience with automation, AI tools, data analytics, and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks and collaborate effectively across teams
